Philosophy of Science in a Forest (PSF2025)

In the year 2025, the tri-annual international conference of the Dutch Union for the Philosophy of Science will take place. Due to rising prices, the conference will be two rather than three days: Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May 2025. We start about 12:00 hours on the Thursday, so as participants from The Netherlands and nearby countries will be able to make it, and we end before dinner on Friday.

The conference will be in the usual forest, around Amersfoort, in the International School for Philosophy (Dutch: ISVW). Registration link and price will appear here in due time (attendance fee, a room for one night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included, as well as drinks during the conference).

There will be two plenary lectures, one by Caspar Jacobs (Leiden University) and one by Rosa Runhardt (Radboud University Nijmegen) conering natural and social science respectively. Further we shall have parallel sessions for submitted talks. Each accepted submission will get in total 45 minutes (30 min. for the talk and 15 min. for Q&A).

Please come and submit a PDF with your putative talk, which document should include: title talk, your name, your affiliation, and an abstract of about 500 words. Name your file as follows: LastNamePSF2025.pdf. Send it to: philsciforest2025@gmail.com. Put in the subject-heading: submission PSF2025.

The subject-matter has to be philosophy of science, broadly construed, so as to include, besides general philosophy of science: philosophy of special sciences (physics, mathematics, biology, economics, psychology, …) and philosophy of scientific practice and technology.
